Wide loads

Route for wide loads

A truck is legally 2.55 m wide (conditioned transport 2.60 m). With an indivisible load the load may bring the width to 3.00 m. Wider requires an exemption.

Width and exemption

An annual exemption goes up to 3.50 m wide, only on the green roads of the DWO. Wider, you apply for a one-off exemption per route; up to 4.50 m wide it can be valid for longer than 4 weeks. Wider than 3.50 m, you must check the DWO up to 24 hours before departure for roadworks or events on the route.

How to plan it in Truckroute

Choose abnormal load and enter the width. Truckroute then plans only over roads where the RDW itself can grant an exemption for that width. Above 6.00 m wide Truckroute does not plan.

Frequently asked questions
