The Digital Exemptions Road Map (DWO)

The Digital Exemptions Road Map (dwo.rdw.nl) is the RDW map showing which roads are green for your dimensions. It is the sum of what the national government, provinces, water boards and municipalities have opened.

What the DWO does

Enter your dimensions and the DWO colours the roads green where an annual exemption applies. Choose LHV and you see the LHV network. For a one-off exemption you make a route proposal in it. Red dots on a green route mean you may not drive that route.

How Truckroute uses the DWO

Every week Truckroute reads the LHV network and the decision space for abnormal loads from the DWO, and gives every road the maximums of the RDW line that runs over it in the same direction. That way the route planner plans a door-to-door route with your dimensions in one go, with zones, signs, closures and charges included. The DWO itself remains binding: Truckroute does not apply for an exemption and does not replace it.

What is not (yet) included

Truckroute does not yet include temporary restrictions in the DWO, such as a narrower lane at roadworks. Recently opened LHV roads that the RDW lists separately and has not yet added to the map are not included either.

Frequently asked questions
