Coach
Route planner for coaches and buses
A coach is not a truck, and a truck route planner often sends it around roads where it may simply drive. Truckroute recognises a bus by its number plate and calculates with the rules for a bus; in the navigation of the app you choose the type Coach for this.
A bus by number plate
Enter the number plate and Truckroute fetches the vehicle from the RDW. If it is a bus (category M2 or M3), the route calculates with the height, width, length and weight of that bus. The route avoids a low bridge, a narrow viaduct or a weight limit that is too tight.
Only the signs that apply to a bus
Sign C7 (closed to trucks) does not apply to a bus: a coach simply drives on. Sign C7a (closed to buses) and sign C7b (closed to trucks and buses) do apply; the route avoids them. See signs C7a and C7b.
Zones, charges and tolls for a bus
The zero-emission zones currently apply only to vans and trucks, not to buses. Truckroute checks a low-emission zone for buses against the emission class of your bus. Truckroute does not charge the Dutch truck charge, the German Maut or the Belgian kilometre charge for a bus. See zones and tolls for coaches.
Driving time
Truckroute does not calculate the driving time of a bus with the 80 km/h that applies to a truck on the motorway.
Navigate it too
You drive the route with the Truckroute app, on the phone and in CarPlay. See coach navigation.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work for a foreign coach?
Truckroute looks up a Dutch number plate at the RDW. Without a Dutch number plate you enter the dimensions and weight yourself; the route then calculates as a truck.
