High loads

Route for high loads above 4 metres

The legal height is 4.00 m. An annual exemption goes up to 4.25 m; above that you apply for a one-off exemption, and above 4.40 m a route survey is mandatory.

How to plan a high load

Choose abnormal load under Dimensions and weight and enter the height together with the other dimensions. Truckroute then only uses roads where the RDW itself can grant an exemption for that height. A transport of 4.4 m high, 3.5 m wide, 25 m long and 60 tonnes from the Prins Clausplein to Oudenrijn then runs via the A4, the A10 and the A2 (90.8 km, calculated on 15-10-2026). Above 5.50 m Truckroute does not plan: a separate assessment is always needed then.

Without an exemption too: enter the right height

If you drive an ordinary truck that is higher than average, enter the real height. Truckroute then avoids every sign and road section with a lower clearance, and explains with the route why it takes a detour.
