Traffic signs
Sign C8: closed to agricultural vehicles
A round sign with a red border and a tractor in it: sign C8. For a truck it means nothing, for a tractor the road is closed.
What the sign says
Sign C8 means: closed to agricultural and forestry tractors, motor vehicles with limited speed and mobile machines. It applies to every tractor, whether it may drive 25 or 40 km/h, and also to a self-propelled machine such as a combine harvester or a field sprayer.
Sign C9
Sign C9 closes a road to slow traffic in general: riders, livestock, carts, agricultural and forestry tractors, motor vehicles with limited speed, mobile machines, microcars, bicycles, mopeds and invalid carriages. A tractor may not enter there either, and the agricultural route in the app avoids that sign too.
Sign C7 does not apply
Sign C7 closes a road to trucks. A tractor is not a truck, so C7 does not count for a tractor. A truck navigation app sends a tractor around it for nothing; the agricultural route in the Truckroute app does not.
In the app
With the type Agricultural the route avoids every C8 and C9 sign the app can place on a road. While calculating you see the step Checking bans for agricultural vehicles (C8), and if the route skips a road because of it, a balloon on the map says No agricultural vehicles. If every road to your destination is closed to agricultural vehicles, the app tells you. A sub-sign with an exception, for example for local traffic, counts as an exception. The signs on site always prevail.
Navigation for agricultural vehicles is part of the Truckroute app, for iPhone (with CarPlay) and Android. Choose the vehicle type Agricultural, enter the dimensions and weight, and navigate. The route planner on this site calculates for trucks and coaches; only the app calculates the agricultural route.
Frequently asked questions
